"It created a greenfield opportunity – this product direction wouldn't be possible without Structify's automated data extraction." - Vedaant (Founder, Wine Find)
The world of wine is vast and large. There are more bottles and producers than any one person can ever know, and when faced with a wine menu at a restaurant the chances that you order something you may like amidst unfamiliar names is low.
Wine Find is setting out to solve that by becoming the world’s most advanced wine discovery app. Founder Vedaant Kukadia aims for their product to be the single place that wine drinkers go when they are around wine: whether that’s deciding what to get at a restaurant, view professional scores and tasting notes, identify what wine they may like, or even price wines at auctions.
Structify makes finding every wine list a breeze, helping to make this vision possible by eliminating manual data collection barriers and enabling instant access to comprehensive restaurant wine information via automated deployment of their web agents.
Selecting what wine to order at a restaurant has its perks, but the challenge lies in low light, often low service locations, especially in NYC. Usually, there is not enough time to go through all the options if the list is exhaustive.
Wine Find aimed to eliminate the pressure of in-the-moment decision making - allowing users to research restaurant wine lists ahead of time. But wine menu data is messy. Many restaurants don’t maintain a wine list on their website, or maintain multiple versions. And each one looks different.
Building comprehensive restaurant wine data would have required developing custom service endpoints for each restaurant website, as well as finding all of these websites—a large engineering undertaking that would have consumed Wine Find’s engineering resources better spent on building other features.
Structify’s AI web agents find wine lists and menus across many restaurant websites, providing them directly to Wine Find without manual intervention. This automated approach eliminated the need for custom development and freed the engineering team to focus on user experience and social features.
Rather than building data collection infrastructure, Wine Find could concentrate on the user experience, knowing that Strucity ran all data collection and quality control.
